Kaalaaya tasmai namaha!
This famous quote is a part of one of the famous shlokas from वैराग्य शतकम् (Vairagya Shatakam) in शतकत्रय (Shatakatraya)by भर्तृहरिः (Bhartrihari). It roughly means that we have to surrender to time eventually. This quote holds much more prominence in the present day, owing to the havoc caused by the pandemic that has held the world prisoner : COVID-19.
This pandemic has seemingly put the brakes on the throttled advancement of mankind, bringing along a lot of pain and suffering to the planet. While we all try to combat and overcome this devastating invisible enemy, we must not disregard the other ailments that plague mankind. The word 'mankind' has any relevance only when man remembers to be kind. This kindness extends to being good and helpful to fellow beings.
STAVIP(R) has always championed the cause of kindness and support to fellow community members. The latest instance of assistance through this cause is the support offered to Mr. Narayana Achar from Bangalore. Mr. Narayana Achar supports a family of three, including his wife and two young children. The wife of Mr. Achar was diagnosed with second stage Cancer. After a difficult strive, the family managed to commence treatment for Mrs. Achar. But before the family could catch a breath of relief, Mr. Achar suffered a brain stroke, rendering some parts of his body paralyzed. With a modest, single source of income and two small children to be looked after along with the ailing parents, the family is going through a tough time.
When STAVIP(R) came to know of the plight of this family from our community, we stepped forward to assist the family in need. Upon verifying the grave situation, we urged fellow members to contribute to the best of their abilities. As always, the members of our community came together and enabled us to collect a suitable amount of money to mitigate the financial worries of the affected family.
