Contribution from STAVIP(R) to ailing community member, Sri. Narayana Achar

 Kaalaaya tasmai namaha!

This famous quote is a part of one of the famous shlokas from वैराग्य शतकम् (Vairagya Shatakam) in शतकत्रय (Shatakatraya)by भर्तृहरिः (Bhartrihari). It roughly means that we have to surrender to time eventually. This quote holds much more prominence in the present day, owing to the havoc caused by the pandemic that has held the world prisoner : COVID-19.

This pandemic has seemingly put the brakes on the throttled advancement of mankind, bringing along a lot of pain and suffering to the planet. While we all try to combat and overcome this devastating invisible enemy, we must not disregard the other ailments that plague mankind. The word 'mankind' has any relevance only when man remembers to be kind. This kindness extends to being good and helpful to fellow beings.

STAVIP(R) has always championed the cause of kindness and support to fellow community members. The latest instance of assistance through this cause is the support offered to Mr. Narayana Achar from Bangalore. Mr. Narayana Achar supports a family of three, including his wife and two young children. The wife of Mr. Achar was diagnosed with second stage Cancer. After a difficult strive, the family managed to commence treatment for Mrs. Achar. But before the family could catch a breath of relief, Mr. Achar suffered a brain stroke, rendering some parts of his body paralyzed. With a modest, single source of income and two small children to be looked after along with the ailing parents, the family is going through a tough time.

When STAVIP(R) came to know of the plight of this family from our community, we stepped forward to assist the family in need. Upon verifying the grave situation, we urged fellow members to contribute to the best of their abilities. As always, the members of our community came together and enabled us to collect a suitable amount of money to mitigate the financial worries of the affected family.

Contribution from STAVIP(R) to ailing community member, Shri Vaman Rao

Life is a journey full of ups and downs. In life, illness and unforeseen circumstances are unavoidable. But as human beings, our core essence is being human. STAVIP(R) has consistently been true to aiding those members of our community who have been struck by misfortune. Although STAVIP(R) has been striving exclusively for the benefit of the Shivalli Tulu Brahmin community, the latest instance of our charity happens to be an exceptional case wherein provision of financial aid was extended to a family belonging to the Vyasaraya matha of the Madhwa community, which was in dire need of financial assistance.

Shri Vaman Rao had been diagnosed with a kidney ailment and was unable to afford the necessary treatment owing to financial constraints. With Shri Vaman Rao being a good son and looking after his aged, bedridden mother, the circumstances even compelled his wife to pursue employment as domestic help along with looking after the household, in order to meet the financial necessities.

When STAVIP(R) came to know of the plight of the family, the association started a campaign to raise sufficient funds to mitigate the financial troubles of the family of Shri Vaman Rao. STB members came forward to donate to the cause and we were able to donate an amount of INR 25000/-. He is currently undergoing dialysis treatment. STAVIP(R) prays to the almighty for his speedy recovery.

The credit for this yet another act of generosity and kindness goes to all the individuals who came forward to donate towards this cause. A special mention to Shri Balchandra Tholpady, Shri Gopalkrishna Kunjathaya, and Shri Ananthakrishna Bhat for their wholehearted generosity. STAVIP(R) thanks and requests all members to continue their support and co-operation towards all the future activities of the association. We pray to the almighty to bless all fellow STB members with health, wealth, and prosperity.

Contribution of STAVIP(R) to Cancer Patient Lakshmi

STAVIP (R) has not lingered to merely being an association that is purely affiliated to religious causes. Instead, it has been actively taking initiatives to uplift and assist the members of the Shivalli Brahmin community. On these lines, we received a request for financial assistance from one of our members, Sri. Yogish Rao, whose aunt has been diagnosed with cancer. High treatment costs were making treatment out of reach and STAVIP(R) decided to assist in this regard.

STAVIP(R) donated a sum of Rs. 25000/- to the needy family and prays for the recovery of the diseased at the earliest.

Contribution of STAVIP(R) association to the Shashiraj family

No human is immune unforeseen ailments and we are no exception. Such distressful times can take a toll of various kinds on the sufferer. At STAVIP, we have always believed and maintained that tough times are when the power of a community comes to the fore and it is responsibility of the community to come forward to mitigate this suffering of a fellow member.

Once such instance is that of a fellow member of our Shivalli commuunity, Sri. Shashiraj, who was diagnosed with mouth cancer. As the family was making do with limited means, STAVIP(R) took an initiative to collect fund in order to do our bit in lessening the financial strain such diseases can have on the afflicted one.

We put forward a request to all fellow members of STAVIP(R) to assist to the best of their abilities, and members came forward to join hands with us for this noble cause.
Special mention  about one of our members, Shree Krishna Upadhyaya, who contributed Rs.25000/- on behalf of his mother PPL Sathyabhama, who attained lotus feet of Lord Krishna few months back.

Owing to the generosity of our members, we raised a total of Rs. 53850/- and STAVIP(R) joined with a contribution to make a donation of Rs. 66000/-, the cheque for which was handed over to the Shashiraj Family on 22/02/2019 in order to financially assist in his battle against cancer. We wished him speedy recovery. 🙏

We are very much thankful to all the donors for their benefaction towards
the cause raised by our association, Shivalli Tulu Antarastriya VIpra Parivara (R)

Shivalli Swayamvara Samavesha, an event from STAVIP(R) association.

Marriages are made in heaven!

We all have come across this famous saying at least once in our lifetime. However, just as how we have to act in order to acquire, marriages too take a meticulous amount of consideration, planning, and what not. The quote, 'The first step is always the hardest', holds good for marriages too, with the first step being finding a suitable partner.

Bearing in mind the exigence of this aspect and with the humble desire of easing the process for the members of our Shivalli community, STAVIP(R) came up with this idea to create a not so complicated and conducive matrimonial platform for marriage aspirants in our community.

Event Invite
An event of this significance requires a lot of planning and arrangements. When the idea was put forward before the members of STAVIP(R), we received a lot of encouragement and suggestions that bolstered our intent. After sufficient discussion, the date was chosen to be Sunday, the 20th of January, 2019, to ensure convenience to all those desirous of participating.

The venue chosen was Hotel Ajantha Trinity Inn, MG Road, Bangalore. Volunteers for the event, along with the organizers, gathered at the venue on the previous day of the event. All necessary arrangements were made and discussions were held.

Contribution of STAVIP (R) to the needy family

Looking at the helpless state of Mr. Sadananda Tantry who met with an accident along with family, STAVIP(r) came forward and raised a campaign in association with Milaap.
